How Sync Works

Trust No One Philosophy

Unlike traditional sync services that could theoretically access your data, Voidtype employs zero-knowledge encryption. All connections use HTTPS, which is mandatory and enforced for .app domains by modern browsers.

"Your data never exists unencrypted outside your device."

Anonymous Identity

Your identity is a randomly generated UUID - no email, no password required. The server stores only a cryptographic hash of your UUID, keeping your actual identity secret even from us.

"You are just a number in a sea of numbers."

Client-Side Encryption

Notes are encrypted on your device using AES-256 before transmission. Only you possess the decryption keys - not us, not anyone else.

"Encryption happens before your data leaves your device."

Dead Drop Model

Think of the sync server as an anonymous dead drop - a secure location for temporary data exchange.

Push: Device A encrypts and deposits data in your labeled dead drop
Pull: Device B retrieves and decrypts locally

"Like spies exchanging secrets through hidden locations."

Encrypted Data

To the server, your data appears as encrypted information. No keys, no way to decrypt or understand the content.

"The server sees only digital noise."

Temporary Storage

Server data auto-deletes after 7 days. No permanent archives means minimal historical data exposure.

"Data evaporates like morning dew."

Zero Metadata

We collect no personal information - no IP logs, no emails, no names, no device fingerprints. Complete anonymity from day one.

"You leave no digital footprint."
